Mobile plan price barometer for Belgium

Method

We collect the tariffs publicly advertised by operators and date every survey. The survey date appears beneath the table.

We record the standing tariff outside temporary promotional campaigns and outside conditional reductions, so that the series remains comparable from one survey to the next.

We publish no ranking score. The table is sorted by ascending price, which is a factual ordering, and a low price is not by itself evidence that an offer suits you.

No operator can influence the survey or appear in it against payment. Anyone can reproduce it from the same public sources.

What the barometer does not say

It says nothing about coverage. That depends on the underlying network rather than the brand on the invoice, and several Belgian brands resell one of the three physical networks.

It says nothing about what happens once the allowance is used: throttling, or billing outside the bundle. That point decides the size of an unpleasant invoice.

And it says nothing about a subsidised handset. The tariffs surveyed are handset-free, which makes them comparable with each other and incomplete against a bundled offer.

Reusing the data

The figures are published under an open licence and may be quoted or reused, including commercially, provided Switchr.be is cited as the source and the survey date is stated.

The series is kept over time and can be provided in a structured format on request, which allows the evolution of the Belgian market to be tracked rather than read at a single date.
